Molly Bamber

Dance coach

Performing arts program, YoungSchool

Molly’s love of musical theatre developed from the age of 6, attending a local Drama School each week. At first just enjoyed singing, dancing, and performing. It was an extracurricular activity with friends, but it became a career ambition. She has since performed many different genres including, plays, dance showcases, operas and of course musical theatre.

Training and being on stage can be challenging but for Molly the rewards outweighed everything. Molly said ‘Musical theatre is a very important part of my life. I strive to make people enjoy themselves as I believe that you should live to do what makes you happy’.

When Molly was 3, she started ballet and her love for dance has grown from there. Since then she has completed grade 6 Ballet, and has now been training in contemporary dance for 3 years. She has also completed a musical theatre exam Grade 4  receiving a Distinction, and a high Merit Grade 5 in singing.

Since September this year Molly has been dance captain, assistant, and pupil representative of ‘theschool’. She has taken the responsibility of remembering choreography, blocking, and choreography changes. Molly loves being dance captain and enjoys learning about all the aspects needed for a great dance performance.

Molly attended the Drama School for 8 years, where she was first introduced to musical theatre. Each summer they put on a showcase in London and auditioned young people from around the world. Molly was selected for 4 of these Summer Showcases, and performed in ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Secret Garden’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Seussical’. In 2017, Molly played the lead role of Tracy Turnblad in her schools production of ‘Hairspray’ the Broadway musical.

Recently, Molly also took part in the Nailsea Music Festival, coming 1st in both her solo performance and her duet.

Since January Molly has been the teacher for 5-7 year olds at theschool. Molly loves seeing the children grow and develop their performance skills like she did.

Having just passed her A Level, Molly starts her Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre this September.
